What benefits do I get with my ISIC?

Your card provides you with a wide range of discounts and special offers. This includes discounts on flights and ferries as well as at museums, bookshops and restaurants. Discounts vary from country to country, but you’re sure to make significant savings at home and when travelling abroad with your card. Make sure your ISIC card goes everywhere with you!

Who can get an ISIC card?

The ISIC card is available to full-time students at school, college or university, aged 12 years and above. There is no upper age limit!

What do you mean by “full time student”?

A ‘full-time student’ attends a full – time course of study. A full-time course must be no less than 12 weeks in duration  and have a minimum of 15 contact hours per week.

How much does the card cost?

The ISIC card currently costs €15 in Ireland

How do I pay for my card?

You have a number of payment options available to you :

In cash at one of our distribution partners’ premises.

Using a credit card on our online payment solution.

By Cheque/Bank Draft or Postal Order – made payable to Student Marketing Network.

What documents do I need to get an ISIC card?

The ISIC card is only available to full-time students, so you must be able to prove you are currently studying full time at school, college or university.
When applying, please provide one of the following documents:

1. Proof of your student status. This can be one of the following:

A copy of your university or student identity card, clearly dated and indicating you are a full-time student

or

A signed and dated letter on official university or school stationery stating you are studying there full time. We prefer an original copy, although photocopies and faxes may be accepted.

or

A recent school report which is on university or school stationery.

 

2. Proof of your date of birth. This can be one of the following:

Passport

or

Garda AgeCard

or

Drivers License

 

3. A passport-sized photograph

How long is my ISIC card valid for?

The standard ISIC card has a fixed validity of 16 months, from the start of the academic year in September. Some ISIC cards also double as bank cards, the validity period for these cards may be longer than 12 months duration

Do my friends and family also enjoy the benefits?

No, unfortunately not. ISIC offers and discounts can only be enjoyed by the cardholder. However, your family and friends might also be eligible for their own ISIC cards.

I am going on a gap year, am I eligible for an ISIC card?

As long as you are deferring  your further study and have documentary proof of this you are eligible to apply for an ISIC.

My card has expired – how can I renew it?

To renew your card, please contact any of our distributing agents or complete your application online

How long does it take to get a card?

Completed orders are printed and sent within two working days. Delivery is typically within 3-5 working days.
