The ISIC brings all students great local and national value with the added benefit of an extensive international benefit network that you can access as and when you venture on your travels overseas.
Your card provides you with a wide range of discounts and special offers. This includes discounts on flights and ferries as well as at museums, bookshops and restaurants. Discounts vary from country to country, but you're sure to make significant savings at home and when travelling abroad with your card. Make sure your ISIC card goes everywhere with you!
The ISIC card is available to full-time students at school, college or university, aged 12 years and above. There is no upper age limit.

When applying, please provide one of the following documents:
- A copy of your university or student identity card, clearly dated and indicating you are a full-time student
or
- A signed and dated letter on official university or school stationery stating you are studying there full time. We prefer an original copy, although photocopies and faxes may be accepted.
You will also need:
- Proof of your date of birth – passport, drivers license or Garda ML10 form
and
- A passport-sized photograph
The standard ISIC card has a fixed validity of 16 months, from the start of the academic year. Some ISIC cards also double as bank cards, the validity period for these cards may be longer than 12 months duration.
Yes, as long as you are studying full time.
No, unfortunately not. ISIC offers and discounts can only be enjoyed by the cardholder. However, your family and friends might also be eligible for their own ISIC cards.
As long as you are deferring your further study and have documentary proof of this you are eligible to apply for an ISIC.

You can apply for a replacement ISIC, IYTC or ITIC card at your nearest ISIC office
ISIC cards are non-refundable and non-transferable, so you'll have to pay the full cost of a new one.
- If you aren't a student, but are under 30 years old, the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) is the right card for you.
- If you're a full-time teacher or professor, you can apply for the International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC).
- The IYTC and ITIC cards both offer similar benefits, services and savings to the ISIC card.
The International Youth Travel Card is for people aged between 12 and 29 years old.
To get an IYTC you must be able to prove your age with one of the following documents:
- Passport/Drivers License or
- Birth certificate or
- A Garda Age Card
You'll also need to bring along/upload a passport-sized photo.
Your IYTC card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
Teachers in full-time employment can apply for an International Teacher Identity Card. The ITIC validity mirrors the academic year i.e September to the following December 12 months.
The ITIC card is especially for full-time professional teachers. To prove your full-time teaching status, you will need to bring a letter on official school or university stationery. This must state that you are employed at a recognised school, college or university for at least 15 hours per week, for a minimum of one academic year. You will also need a passport-sized photo.
